SLPOA welcomes you for another Lake Season.
Spring is a favorite time of year. The trees and plants are bursting open their leaves. Flowers are coloring our lives with new pleasures. The first boats are loaded with fishing gear and a couple of fishermen, women and children. Then come the party boats, first to explore the cabins that are not accessible in the winter. Then others just to enjoy the early lake season. By Memorial Day Weekend we see jet skis, wake surfers and even a couple of water skiers. The lake is awakening to summer.
The lake level is of concern this year due to less than normal snowfall in the mountains and the warm weather that kept that snow from hanging around very long. We appear to be at least 12” lower than last year at this time. In addition, this is a year to be ever more diligent about fire danger. Inland Empire Paper Company official has reported exceptionally dry conditions this spring. We can see it in the dry and nearly dry streams and even a low water flow in Brickel Creek.
Enjoy the lake, be careful and be safe. Help SLPOA protect beautiful Spirit Lake for all of us to enjoy.
