Latest News from Spirit Lake

Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) has been observed by Idaho DEQ in the Maiden Rock area of Spirit Lake.
At this time it appears to very light, not the thick blue/green surface slime we saw last year.
This is a toxin producing algae and precautions should be taken not to swim or allow pets to swim in areas that appear to be contaminated with algae.
